2. Qualification •MBBS with post graduate in public health, MPH or MD community / preventive medicine •with minimum three yrs. of experience in health programs Or •MBBS with long experience in the field of national programs i.e. NLEP Or •BAMS with MPH with excellent demonstrable health management expertise
3. Other essentials •Good written & spoken English with experience in proposal writing/research •Expertise in computers, word, excel, power point •Honesty and integrity •Dependability
4. Duty Station: UP, Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand, or Delhi
5. Type of appointment Contractual appointments, could be long term, renewable after performance assessment
6. Remuneration Initially the salary will be around Rs. 50,000 – 55,000 per month. (S)he shall also be entitled for other benefits like insurance, medical reimbursement, travel concession, reimbursement of telephone costs, ex-gratia, gratuity etc. On travel days, (S)he will be entitled for re-imbursement of hotel accommodation, plus per diem of Rs.700 per day
Job Description of the Leprosy Program Advisors (LPAs)/Consultant NLEP
• S(H)e will report to Country Representative of NLR India branch • Will carry out, in close collaboration with Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and District Leprosy Officer (DLO), a baseline assessment of technical and managerial skills needs of the District Leprosy Cell (DLC) in the designated part of the State. • To identify, on the basis of this baseline information, specific training needs and participate or arrange experts to facilitate formal training activities. • To motivate, guide, support and encourage District leprosy Cell staff to carry out field visits and supportive supervision in its true sense. This includes development of supervision checklists and reporting formats. It also includes improving the DLC’s communication skills, to give advice, on feedback and follow-up on findings. • To develop, on the basis of the skills inventory, a visit programme for the DLCs in the LPA’s designated part of the State, designating adequate time for each DLC in relation to their training status and technical & managerial skills. • To support the DLC in planning the program activities, in monitoring the implementation of the planned program and in adapting the planning to reality • To assist DLC in maintaining good relations with NRHM. • To assist the DLC in ensuring that the District Societies are meeting regularly, that agendas are prepared in advance by the DLC, that sufficient time is provided for discussions, and that adequate (correct & timely) meeting reports/minutes are made and distributed. • To assist the DLC to ensure that the budget allocated for the activities in the plan is utilized effectively and efficiently. • To assist the DLC in ensuring that the DLC and CMO meet the District Magistrate regularly and he/she is continuously aware of the activities performed, and future plans of activities and the budget required. • To facilitate that the DLC and CMO are in complete harmony and all the plans are made under consultation of each other. • To support DLC in keeping leprosy on high agenda during Health Planning meetings other than those organized for leprosy (Advocacy) • To keep NLR India branch office and the State informed through quarterly reports about the functioning of DLC, gaps in the NLEP and new developments or initiatives undertaken by the DLC • Any other task/activity assigned by the Country Representative |
