For more information, please visit www.psi.org.in PSI is sub recipient to International Union against Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases (The Union) under New Funding Model (NFM) of Global Fund Round-9 to implement Project Axshya across 60 districts and 9 urban cities in India. The Project is implemented in close collaboration with Revised National TB Program (RNTCP) and aims at increasing accessibility of TB diagnosis and treatment services to Key Affected Population (KAP) (Urban Slums, Vulnerable and Marginalized Population, PLHIV, Mining/Quary workers etc) by conducting ACSM activities within the communities and training and engagement of all types of Private Providers. POSITION PURPOSE: PSI is looking at recruiting a dynamic, self-motivated medical professional with past experience in TB, MDR-TB program with specific skills in designing and implementing trainings and technical inputs in the Program. He/She will be responsible for providing technical trainings and support to the Urban-TB and MDR-TB interventions under Project Axshya. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Urban TB Intervention: • Develop/Adopt training modules on STCI guidelines for training of QPPs • Facilitate and conduct trainings of identified Qualified Private Providers (QPPs) in Standards of TB Care in India (STCI) guidelines. • Build capacity of Axshya Representatives (AR) on technical aspects of TB, STCI guidelines, TB Notification and MDR-TB • Provide support to ARs and guide them to identify and map Specialists (MD, MS etc), MBBS doctors, AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha and Homeopath), Private Labs and Private Hospitals in assigned urban sites. • Provide regular technical support to ARs to help them follow up with QPPs and engage them for project activities • Participates in mentoring and support visits to QPPs network on periodic basis and provides appropriate documentation of the same and onward feeding into MIS MDR-TB Counselling and TB Helpline Intervention • Identify training needs of MDR-TB Counsellors and TB-Helpline Callers • Develop training material for the training of MDR-TB counsellors • Facilitate and conduct trainings of MDR-TB counsellors in Technical aspects of TB and MDR-TB • Facilitate conduct trainings of TB Helpline Callers on technical aspects of TB and MDR-TB • Provide technical support and supportive supervision to MDR-TB counsellors and TB Helpline callers in collaboration with program team Support in Program Management and Documentation • Provide inputs in qualitative research with health care providers; and other performance enhancement initiatives for achieving quality standards • Provides inputs for development of concept papers and proposals. • Support MIS manager in documentation and reporting on Urban TB intervention • Contributes to development of newsletter and technical letters by preparing or reviewing write-ups on program or technical issues. Qualification and Experience Essential: • MBBS/Post Graduate in Community Medicine/PSM/Public Health • At least 5-8 years’ experience in public health, • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in TB program involving private sector, MDR-TB Programs SKILLS: • Excellent facilitation skills, good communication skills, with good spoken and written English and Hindi • Excellent report writing and presentation skills • Excellent networking and advocacy skills • Willingness to travel 40% of the time COMPETENCIES: Customer Service Orientation - See PSI from the client point of view; keep client needs paramount when making decisions and taking action; think beyond current client base; understand the forces that impact PSI, those we serve and those we could serve in the future.
