Global Ayush wellness meet in Feb 2016 BENGALURU

The City will host a three-day mega event ‘Global Wellness Meet’, at Palace Grounds starting February 12, 2016, to promote Ayush medicine on a global platform. Karnataka Ayurveda and Unani Practitioners Board will organise the event at an estimated cost of Rs 7.5 crore. Apart from government funding, the organisers hope to raise money through sponsorships for the event. The event is expected to see footfalls of close to five lakh delegates and Ayush enthusiasts, claim the organisers. Eight ambassadors have been nominated from the Ayush department to reach out to foreign delegates, investors and enthusiasts. Addressing a press conference in the City on Thursday, Dr Sathyamoorthy Bhat, president, Karnataka Ayurveda and Unani Practitioners Board, said, “The event could be a one- stop destination for Ayush enthusiasts as treatment, medication, information and interaction would made available at the same place. At least, 400 Ayush stalls would be set up on the premises where the meet would be conducted.” The event will have sessions on preparation of home-made medicines. Free medical tests can be availed. Ahead of the Global Welless Meet, a ‘Delhi Chalo march’ would be organised. The Forum of Indian Medicine Councils of India would submit a memorandum to the Central government pressing the latter to utilise the services of Ayush doctors in rural areas where there is a dearth of professional help . @http://www.deccanherald.com/content/509054/global-ayush-wellness-meet-feb.html
