Speaking to Express during the inauguration of an international seminar on Unani Ilaj Bit Tadbeer (Regimental Therapy), he added that there was also a proposal to set up an Ayush hospital in all districts of the country. “The department has asked all the states for land to set up the All India Institute of Ayurveda. A few states have submitted the report, while others have not. If the states show interest, the institutes will be set up. Similarly, Ayush hospital will be set up in every district,” he added. About the plans to set up AIIMS in Tamil Nadu, the minister said the five-member panel formed by the Union Health Ministry to examine the five locations proposed by the State Government for AIIMS had submitted its report. But the final decision was yet to be taken by the ministry. Over 100 delegates from across the country took part in the two-day seminar organised by Niamath Science Academy, an NGO. The delegates placed a proposal with the minister to start a PG course in Government Unani Medical College, Chennai, which the minister agreed to in principle.
