AYUSH for various traditional systems of health care
Various traditional systems of health care have been extensively used by the Department of AYUSH and deal with alternate systems of medicines namely Ayurveda, Unani, Naturopathy and Homeopathy, Chief Secretary IYR Krishna Rao said. National AYUSH Mission Governing Body held its first meeting here today under the Chairmanship of Krishna Rao. To provide Medicare facilities to the people of the State through Ayurvedic, Unani and Homeopathy systems of medicine is the main objective of the Department. Government of India approved National AYUSH Mission contained Flexi pool under Public Private Partnership, an official statement said here today. A vision plan of the AYUSH Department was discussed in the meeting. Creation of 30 bedded hospitals in every Revenue Division preferably integrated manner -- Ayurveda, Naturopathy, Homeopathy along with Yoga Centres nearby the Dispensaries. Creation of 50 bedded hospitals in every District Headquarters. Establishment of Wellness Centres in all Municipalities and Municipal Corporations and Temple Towns in association with Endowments and Tourism Departments. Establishment of 10-20 bedded hospitals in Mandal Headquarters. Up gradation of existing dispensaries, hospitals and teaching institutions of Ayurveda and Homeopathy also required. In order to achieve the vision goals and objectives of AYUSH Department, the Government of Andhra Pradesh may look for PPP if necessary, to serve the people of the State with alternative medical systems to choose other than Allopathy, as the State is newly formed and heavy investments may not be possible in all the sectors, Chief Secretary opined. Spl. Chief Secretary Health L.V. Subrahmanyam, Secretary Finance M. Ravichandra, Commissioner AYUSH Sri D. Nalini Mohan and others attended the meeting.
