1. JOB PURPOSE The Nurse is responsible for the children’s health in Bal Anand. 2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES a. Caring for Children • Check all the children in Bal Anand individually and note the observations in the register and take action as required • Take appointments with doctors for check-ups, operations and follow-up. Immediate written report on doctors’ advice to be filed in child’s file on the same day • Consulting the doctors on health issues • New baby assessment with a check list of all tests to be done and ensure they are done immediately and reports filed in the file • Record milestones in respective files and report to adoption social worker / Residential Social Worker • Monitor the CCTV • Attend to nursing duty • Coordinate with SW, mentor & nurse regarding health of Umang children, as and when required • Arrange to send/receive medical reports and medicines pertaining to Umang Children • As the senior nurse, you will be held responsible for any lapse on the floors with regard to the children’s health and welfare • You will be answerable if children are at hospital due to negligence or indifference of staff and you will be given a verbal warning. Repeat offence will warrant a written warning from the management. More than two warnings will lead to an enquiry and possible dismissal. b. Management and Administrative duties • Maintaining record books • Maintain attendance register of children present • Maintaining medicine stock registers and ordering medicines • Attend regular adoption meetings and give updates on children’s development and general health • Monitoring the cleanliness of floors • Supervise the junior nurses and ensure they maintain logs properly. Same to be checked daily • Coordinate with outside agencies for speech therapy, tests, therapy equipment for children like callipers, hearing aid, specs, etc in consultation with Social Worker (Residential Unit) • Writing monthly reports on children’s health and development • Hold weekly meeting with junior nurses • Maintain accounts and vouchers for various medical expenses incurred • Prepare a report with details of Tx and proposed expense to help prepare a letter for donors • Monitor the caretakers and correct any misconduct immediately. Repeated offence to be dealt with a verbal warning, which has to be reported to the Director/Managing Trustee immediately and noted in the ‘warnings book’ • Any misconduct, untoward incident, unresolved issues are to be brought to the immediate notice of the Director/Managing Trustee Job Email id: info(at)balanand.in
