Samarthan-Centre for Development Support Job vacancy Samarthan has been working in M.P and Chhattisgarh over the last 20 years. We have a strong field presence in number of districts to demonstrate examples of participatory development and governance. In the strategic planning exercise, a separate legal identity ‘Samarth in Particpatory Action (SIPA) has been set up to expand the field action of Samarthan independently. Samarth in Participatory Action is 5 years old orgnaisaiton. SIPA emerged from field actions in Sehore District where there are several projects of Water and Sanitation, health and governance. We also promote and encourage involvement of local population in planning, execution and monitoring of development projects. We are looking for Team Leader (Technical) for Watershed Management Team (WMT) for Integrated Watershed Management (IWM) project supported by ITC Limited. Position : Team Leader ( Technical) Location – Sehore district of M.P Roles and Responsibilities: Team Leader would be engaged at PIA level for coordinating, advising, and assisting locally led watershed management activities within assigned watersheds. The focus includes: • Getting Technical approvals from concerned department • Integration of GIS planning in the program • Provide Capacity building and guidance assistance to the team • Facilitation of Entry Point Activity • Ensure community participation in different phases of the project • Preparation of micro plan and Detailed Project Report • Ensure women participation and enhance their livelihood opportunity • Provide guidance to the village level Watershed Committee(WC) • Documentation and maintenance of project reports and MIS • Promote innovative and sustainable livelihood practices • Ensure convergence with concerned line department • Monitoring, assessing and undertaking physical verification and the amount of work done • Promoting transparency and accountability in implementation of watershed and social audit works • Arranging physical, financial and social audit of the work undertaken • Preparation of monthly/ quarterly/ annual physical and financial planning and progress reports • Setting up suitable arrangements for post-project operation, maintenance and future development of assets created during the project period • Documentation and communication of better practices, success stories and learning from the program Technical: • Undertake engineer surveys, prepare engineering drawings and cost estimates for all land based interventions. • Provide technical guidance in the selection of appropriate sites and convince community and Watershed Committee members • Preparation of technical design and estimates for DPR proposal • Provide technical assistance to the PIA team and WC members in construction of watershed structures • Monitoring and supervision during construction of structures • Maintenance of measurement book and other relevant documents Qualifications and Experience: • Graduate Degree in Civil Engineering/ Agriculture Engineering from any reputed institute/ university. • At least 5 years of working experience in Watershed (IWMP) and livelihood enhancement relevant projects. • Fair understanding on issues related to governance, social inclusion and right based approach Good command over English and Hindi (spoken and written) is essential. Compensation: Salary for the position will be around 5.40 lakh per annum depending on the experience and qualification.
