On the behest of the Supreme Court, the MCI has issued a notice to all state medical councils. As per the notice, no doctor, govt or private, can henceforth go on strike. Action will be taken against the doctor, which means suspension of license. The organisation behind this action is an NGO called People For Better Treatment, run by Dr. Kunal Saha, who approached the Supreme Court.
